Roost Smart Battery for Older Smoke Detectors

I was doing some research on smoke alarms this morning and came across the Roost Smart Battery. The battery turns dumb (not-connected to wifi) smoke detectors into smart ones.

By inserting the battery and connecting it to your wifi, you’ll get mobile notifications anytime the alarm goes off.

Would I buy that over a First Alert or Nest Protect? I don’t think so.

The idea is cool though.
