Touch light for night stand

My girlfriend is trying not to look at her phone at night and wants to do sudoku puzzles instead. She wants something that is not as bright as out bedside lamps, but bright enough for her to see the puzzles. I am thinking a cheap touch light would be ideal—the kind you stick in closets or in cabinets.

Ideally what I’m looking for has:

  • Single lamp—we don’t need a pack of 6
  • AA or AAA batteries—I don’t want something that needs to charge
  • Dimmable or different light settings
  • Small enough to put in night stand when finished
  • No sticky back

Maybe there is another name for what I am looking for? I’m thinking something like this.

I believe what you’re looking for is called a puck light.

This puck light from GE matches most of your criteria

  • Single lamp—we don’t need a pack of 6
    Well, it’s a 2-pack

  • AA or AAA batteries—I don’t want something that needs to charge
    Takes AAA Batteries

  • Dimmable or different light settings
Well, it doesn’t have different settings

  • Small enough to put in night stand when finished
    Yes

  • No sticky back
The 3M tape is separate, so you don’t have to make the back sticky

On second thought, what do you think about a tent lantern?

It does cost twice as much as the GE lights, but it does match all your criteria. Plus you have a tent light for your next camping trip!

I’m tempted to buy the tent lantern you linked. Black Diamond makes excellent quality stuff. Also might make a worthwhile addition to our Car Camping Checklist.

We’ll see what my girlfriend says. These are both great suggestions! Thank you!
