I’ve got the Peugeot Pepper Mill that were recommended by The Wirecutter. They do what they are supposed to and the grinds are even. However, I can’t stand the mess they leave behind. I have a tray to catch loose grounds, but they still leave grinds everywhere.
I am thinking I’m going to get a Salt Keeper for salt and try and find a pepper grinder that won’t leave a mess. Currently I’m thinking:
The OXO is probably the most practical. A selling point of the grinder is no-mess. The Cole & Mason grinder is more attractive, accurate and expensive. I found several reviews that say it leaves some grounds on the counter, but also the top is flat and can be stored upside down.
